A System-Based-Care Approach to Treating Biofunctional Disorders and Dento-Medical Issues

Complex dental issues and chronic facial pain are often the combined result of underlying biomechanical issues, including: craniofacial dental orthognathics, dentally deleterious medical conditions, and environmental issues. The focus of this course is to provide attendees with:

  • An understanding of the interrelationship of such conditions and their contribution to symptoms of chronic facial pain, TMJD, migraines, and biomechanical collapse and erosion of natural dentition
  • Evaluation, diagnosis, care planning, and effective predictable treatment systems
  • Business practice management and patient management tools to attract new patients and immediately implement biofunctional disorder philosophies which enhance patient treatment and practice profitability

This course follows a biofunctional approach to implant placement and restoration. Topics will include the following:

  • Understanding implant technology and considerations in selecting an implant system
  • Establishing principles of implant site preparation
  • Marketing concepts for building an implant clientele
  • Establishing practice and patient management implant protocols and systems
  • Diagnostic and surgical data gathering considerations
  • Medical history evaluation and surgical risk factors
  • Management of pre/post-surgical inflammation, swelling, bleeding and complications
  • Pain control protocols
  • Principles and risks of implant integration and bone formation
  • Tissue and bone management, flap design and suturing techniques
  • Principles of treatment planning, case presentation, and financial arrangements
